Monel 400 ist eine Nickel-Kupfer-Legierung, beständig gegen Meerwasser und Dampf bei hohen Temperaturen sowie gegenüber Salz- und Laugenlösungen.
Monel 400 zeichnet sich durch gute allgemeine Korrosionsbeständigkeit, gute Schweißbarkeit und mittlere bis hohe Festigkeit aus. Die Legierung wurde in einer Vielzahl von Anwendungen verwendet. Es hat eine ausgezeichnete Beständigkeit gegen schnell fließendes Brackwasser oder Meerwasser. 

Es ist besonders resistent gegen Salzsäure und Flusssäure, wenn sie entlüftet werden. Die Legierung ist bei Raumtemperatur leicht magnetisch. Monel 400 wird häufig in der Chemie-, Öl- und Schiffsindustrie eingesetzt.

Monel 400 is characterized by good general corrosion resistance, good weldability and moderate to high strength. The alloy has been used in a variety of applications. It has excellent resistance to rapidly flowing brackish water or seawater. It is particularly resistant to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids when they are de-aerated. The alloy is slightly magnetic at room temperature. Monel 400 is widely used in the chemical, oil and marine industries.
